Job summary

Valor Hospitality is hiring a pantry cook to prepare culinary delights for guests and hotel clientele. You will handle daily preparation in pantry and other kitchen areas, following production standards and recipes while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

The role requires a high school diploma or culinary certification, 3–6 months food service experience, knowledge of ovens and ranges, and basic knife skills.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; culinary certificate or degree preferred.
• 3–6 months in a food/beverage services environment.
• Experience with industrial ovens and cooking ranges.
• Knowledge of preparing various cuisines, relishes, soups and salads.
• Basic professional cooking and knife skills.
• Understanding of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Able to read, speak and understand English.
• Communicate information about hotel services to management and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start ahead items, ensuring not to over-prepare.
• Assemble orders accurately from multiple items.
• Date and rotate perishables; maintain proper temperatures.
• Check par levels, prep, freezer pull and line setup.
• Assist in stocking the buffet and note shortages.
• Return unused items to storage with proper dating.
• Help control food costs and minimize waste.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
