Job summary

Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Downtown Des Moines, operated by Sherman Associates, seeks an entry-level Front Desk Associate for part-time shifts including weekdays and weekends. You will greet guests, check in/out, handle reservations, and assist with inquiries in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of public-facing experience, strong communication, and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a public contact position
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Customer service experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferred
• Basic computer knowledge and some knowledge in word, excel, outlook, and internet
• Office hours may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests on arrival
• Registers and books guests, verifying reservation and payment info
• Proficient on kiosk operations to assist when necessary
• Answers all inbound calls professionally
• Has knowledge of hotel facilities and local area
• Accepts payment at registration and checkout
• Maintains a house bank and reports receipts daily
• Processes Retail transactions for guests
• Restocks and keeps Retail clean
• Responds to guest complaints professionally
• Completes other duties as assigned
