Job summary

Hotel Investment Services is seeking a dependable Full-Time Maintenance Technician in Michigan to keep hotel properties’ equipment and building systems safe, functional, and well maintained.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks. The role may involve on-call shifts and occasional emergencies, with compensation discussed during hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in facilities, property, hotel, apartment, industrial, or commercial maintenance preferred.
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools; basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, follow instructions, and complete work independently.
• Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and a service-focused attitude.
• Basic ability to use a phone, email, and electronic work-order system.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
• Relevant trade licenses or certifications are a plus but are not required unless specified by local law or the employer.
• As you will be operating company-owned vehicles, those with alcohol-related violations cannot be considered.
• Background check will be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, fixtures, and common areas.
• Diagnose and complete basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, appliances, and general facilities.
• Respond to maintenance requests promptly, prioritize urgent issues, and communicate repair status clearly.
• Inspect the property regularly to identify safety concerns, damage, wear, or needed improvements.
• Complete assigned work orders accurately and document labor, materials, and follow-up needs.
• Maintain tools, parts, maintenance areas, and inventory in a clean, organized, and secure condition.
• Assist with equipment installation, seasonal maintenance, grounds upkeep, and special projects.
• Follow safety procedures, building codes, manufacturer instructions, and company policies.
• Participate in an on-call or emergency-response rotation when required.
