Hilton Washington DC National Mall The Wharf is seeking an Engineer responsible for refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and general hotel building maintenance. Respond to HotSos requests and follow management directions.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and essential systems, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and immediate response to service needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance or similar facilities environment.
• Basic knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and safety procedures.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Capable of following supervisor instructions and shift routines.

Responsibilities

• Guest Rooms: perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general maintenance tasks.
• Public Areas: maintain hardware, plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment and cosmetic items.
• Fire alarm/Life safety system: monitor and respond per procedures.
• Energy conservation: observe and report energy usage and opportunities.
• Maintain tools and equipment, keep shop area organized.
• Respond to emergencies and protect guests and property.
• Uphold safety policies and a safe work environment.
• Maintain daily logs and communicate issues to shifts.
• Departmental duties: keep engineering areas clean and organized.
• Complete assigned tasks safely and professionally.
