Job description

Job Description

No two days will be the same for this organized, efficient individual. The Event Sourcing Manager must work closely with the client to understand meeting goals and objectives, providing venue and destination location services to achieve those goals. The manager must work effectively with internal support teams, external clients, and vendors.

What you will do here:
  • Consult with clients (external and internal) on meeting RFP requirements
  • Create and manage RFPs in web applications (Cvent)
  • Manage RFP lifecycle: clarify responses, prepare comparison grids, consult on decisions, negotiate terms & concessions, and contract with hotels/venues
  • Track, report, and audit cost savings
  • Participate in remote team calls
  • Partner with internal Program Managers
  • Participate in hotel presentations/webinars
  • Coordinate client hotel and destination site inspections
  • Travel as directed (limited)
  • Work flexible hours to meet client needs across time zones
  • Participate in industry events, travel, and potential speaking/training engagements
  • Manage multiple parties involved in RFP process
  • Resolve conflicts/problems internally and externally
  • Drive business where needed and negotiate terms extensively
What you will bring:
  • Strong knowledge of US and international destinations
  • Knowledge of hotel chains, brands, and operations
  • Minimum 5+ years in Meetings Industry; hotel sourcing experience a plus
  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Cvent platform is a plus
  • Fluent in English; foreign languages a plus
  • Ability to travel less than 15%
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Web Applications (Cvent), SharePoint
