Description

No two days will be the same for this organized, efficient individual. The Event Sourcing Manager must work closely with the client to understand the meeting goals and objectives and provide venue and destination location services to achieve those goals. The Event Sourcing Manager must be able to work effectively and efficiently with the internal support team, external clients, and vendors.

What You Will Do Here

  • Consult directly with clients (external and internal) on meeting RFP requirements
  • Create and manage RFPs in web applications (Cvent)
  • Manage RFP lifecycle: work with hotels/venues to clarify responses, prepare client response comparison grid, consult with client on decision process, negotiate final terms & concessions, and contract with hotel/venue
  • Track, report, and audit cost savings in web applications and on intranet
  • Participate in remotely based team calls
  • Partner with internal M&IW Program Managers
  • Participate in hotel presentations/webinars
  • Coordinate client hotel and destination site inspections – attend as requested
  • Travel as directed by Manager (limited)
  • Work during traditional business hours with flexibility to meet client needs, time zone differences, and workload
  • Participate professionally in industry events, travel, and potential speaking/training engagements
  • Manage multiple parties involved in RFP process: clients, hotel global sales, hotel sales, planning
  • Resolve conflicts and problems internally and with partner suppliers and clients
  • Consult and drive business where needed
  • Drive cost savings and negotiate terms, managing extensive contracts with multiple parties

What You Will Bring

  • Strong knowledge of US and international destinations
  • Knowledge of hotel chains, brands, and operating structures
  • Minimum 5+ years in the Meetings Industry; hotel sourcing experience is a plus
  • College Degree or equivalent experience in the Meeting Industry
  • Knowledge of Cvent platform is a plus
  • Fluent in English; foreign languages are a plus
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Web Applications (Cvent), SharePoint
