Job summary

The Magnolia Hotel STL is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to oversee all MEP systems, manage the Engineering department, and implement preventive maintenance programs across guestrooms and public areas. You will lead safety initiatives, coordinate external contractors, develop engineering manuals, train staff, and ensure energy efficiency, reliability, and compliance with hotel standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or technical equivalent required.
• Minimum five years in hospitality facilities management.
• Certified in hotel engineering/maintenance positions.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily line-ups and manage the engineering department.
• Oversee maintenance of all building systems and life-safety systems.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and capital improvement projects.
• Develop and implement engineering manuals and safety programs.
• Manage outside contracts, procurement and budget forecasting.
• Direct work orders and staff development initiatives.
