Job summary

The Marquesa Hotel, a Noble House Hotel, seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead the property’s engineering and maintenance operations, safeguarding life-safety systems and guest comfort while prioritizing minimal disruption to the guest experience.

You will manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems; lead a team, plan preventative maintenance, oversee capital projects, and partner with hotel leadership on long-term improvement plans.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of facilities maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in hospitality or property management.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering/facilities management or leadership experience.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general building maintenance.
• Project management and renovation experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Engineering team, including hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, and performance.
• Manage the maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, kitchen and laundry equipment, and general building systems.
• Develop, implement, and track preventative maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
• Ensure maintenance requests and repairs are completed promptly, accurately, and to hotel standards.
• Oversee capital projects, renovations, contractors, and vendors while monitoring project timelines, quality, and budgets.
• Manage departmental purchasing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and expenses.
• Ensure emergency and life-safety equipment and systems are properly inspected, tested, maintained, and certified.
• Conduct property and fire-safety inspections and ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
• Participate in monthly HAT meetings, safety walks, incident investigations, and property loss prevention efforts.
• Partner with the General Manager and hotel leadership on short- and long-term property maintenance and improvement plans.
• Respond to engineering-related guest concerns professionally and support timely resolution of property or safety-related issues.
