Job summary

JL Hospitality Management seeks a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead the Engineering/Maintenance department of our Anchorage-area hotel, overseeing the building, guestrooms, public areas, and all building systems to ensure safety, reliability, and guest comfort.

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive preventive maintenance approach, and the ability to lead a team while staying actively involved in day-to-day operations, budgeting, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel, commercial building, facilities, or property maintenance experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead a team while actively involved in day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the hotel’s Engineering/Maintenance department.
• Maintain the physical condition and safety of the hotel and its systems.
• Respond to maintenance needs and prioritize based on urgency and guest impact.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems.
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program.
• Manage expenses, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
