Job summary

Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the daily operations of the Engineering Department. This hands-on leadership role ensures the hotel's guest rooms, public spaces, meeting facilities, and building systems are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade/technical coursework preferred.
• 5+ years engineering or facilities maintenance experience; 2+ years in supervision.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, preventive maintenance, and life-safety systems.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regs, building codes, and CMMS.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Flexible schedule; evenings, weekends, and on-call.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant, CPO, OSHA, Electrical, Plumbing or HVAC certs a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily operations of the Engineering Department.
• Respond to work tickets and maintenance requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Support renovations and capital improvement projects safely and on time.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire and life-safety standards, and codes.
• Manage engineering shop inventory and replenishment.
• Conduct routine inspections of rooms, public areas, and mechanical rooms.
• Collaborate with leadership and other departments to support operations.
• Assist with emergency response and on-call duties.
