Job summary

Sierra Lodgings Inc. seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team, manage daily maintenance, and uphold safety and performance of our hotel facilities on site in Kissimmee.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, project planning, budgeting, and responsive service to guests. Candidates need HVAC/electrical/plumbing knowledge, strong leadership, independent judgment, and the ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2 years’ experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area.
• HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing knowledge and experience.
• Strong English communication; second language is a plus.
• Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day operations of Engineering.
• Maintains and operates equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
• Assist the staff and management in handling requests for service calls and dispatching appropriate staff.
• Assists in planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensures compliance with Engineering departmental policies, standards, and procedures.
• Manages department expenses to meet budgeted goals.
• Participates in procurement and management of engineering supplies and equipment.
• Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of facilities to determine work required.
• Recommends or arranges for services like painting, renovations, and replacement of furnishings.
• Follows Safety Data Sheets and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
