Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to supervise the Engineering Department at a California property. You will manage daily operations, oversee equipment maintenance, and lead engineering staff to ensure high standards of safety and performance.

The role requires 4+ years in hotel maintenance/engineering with management experience, plus relevant certifications in fire safety and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and trade school experience preferred.
• 4+ years in hotel maintenance/engineering with 2+ years of management.
• High-rise Fire Safety, CFC, and chemical testing certifications.
• Proficient in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, locksmithing, refrigeration, welding, boiler maintenance, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Operate, repair, and maintain pumps, boilers, motors, chillers, electrical systems, lighting, and hotel equipment.
• Paint surfaces, repair walls, and perform minor furniture touch-ups.
• Maintain logs of equipment tests and daily/monthly reports.
• Lead property engineering teams and manage daily operations.
• Coordinate with People & Culture and procurement for parts and services.
