Job summary

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants seeks a Maintenance Engineer to uphold and repair hotel facilities, systems, and equipment. You’ll service HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building components, perform installations, and keep the property in top condition to ensure guest satisfaction.

The role requires reliability, the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and prior hotel engineering or relevant maintenance experience. This position emphasizes safety, quality, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a hotel engineer is preferred.
• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment, systems and building components including mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture and walls.
• Install and replace lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines and coordinate with supervisors to diagnose or repair.
• Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
• Fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures.
• Attend scheduled training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas when necessary.
• Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist in delivering and setup of new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects.
• Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
