Highgate Hotels is seeking an Assistant Director of Engineering in Los Angeles to oversee all engineering operations, budgeting, and safety programs for a major property.

The role requires senior facilities management experience in hospitality, with budget accountability and leadership of a technical team. Expect a full-time, yearly compensation in the six-figure USD range and opportunities to contribute to energy conservation and asset optimization.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree with 1+ year of related management experience, or a 2-year college degree with 3+ years of related management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Stationary Engineer's license if required by local code.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Travel related to company business sometimes required.
• Must communicate effectively with employees and guests; multitask and prioritize departmental functions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service and standard operating procedures.
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules and manage budgeting.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and energy conservation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with laws and safety standards; manage vendor contracts.
