Job summary

Concord Hospitality is seeking a hands-on Director of Engineering to lead all property maintenance and engineering operations for a flagship Charlotte hotel. As a key member of the executive team, you will oversee building systems, life-safety, energy management, and preventative maintenance, while pre-opening activities and vendor relationships align with the Beckworth's standards.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering leadership in a hotel, resort, or facilities management environment.
• Experience in a hotel opening or pre-opening activities is highly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of building systems, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance best practices.
• Strong leadership and team development skills with a commitment to associate growth.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond swiftly to operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead all pre-opening engineering activities, including building commissioning, operational readiness, vendor coordination, warranty management, inspections, and punch list completions.
• Build and develop the Engineering department from the ground up, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and mentoring.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of hotel engineering, including maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and management of building systems.
• Maintain and enhance preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, mechanical, and building automation systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements including OSHA and local codes.
• Oversee contractor and vendor relationships, ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality work and asset performance.
