Job summary

Concord Hospitality is seeking a hands-on Director of Engineering to lead all property maintenance and engineering operations at The Beckworth in Uptown Charlotte, reporting to the General Manager as part of the Executive Committee. This role ensures peak performance of HVAC, life safety, and building systems while upholding safety and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in engineering leadership within a hotel, resort, or facilities management environment.
• Experience in a hotel opening environment is highly preferred for the successful candidate
• Deep knowledge of building systems, safety protocols, and preventative maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead all pre-opening engineering activities, including commissioning, readiness, vendor coordination, warranty management, inspections, and punch list completion.
• Build and develop the Engineering department from the ground up, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and mentoring team members.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of hotel engineering, including maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and management of all building systems.
• Maintain and enhance preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, mechanical, and building automation systems.
• Ensure safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance including OSHA standards and Hilton brand requirements.
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships and maximize warranty protection and asset performance.
• Monitor budgets, inventory, purchasing, contracts, and capital expenditures to control costs and improve efficiency.
