Job summary

The Westin Indianapolis Airport is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead maintenance and safety for the hotel. You will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee daily operations, and drive long-term preventative maintenance and capital plans to protect guest safety and property value.

Lead a team of repairs & maintenance staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with hotel leadership to optimize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a similar role within a full-service hospitality operation.
• Specialized knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or related systems is preferred.
• Strong understanding of life-safety systems and preventative maintenance plans.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance and safety of the hotel facility.
• Develop an engineering operating strategy aligned with business goals.
• Coach and support the Engineering team in preventative maintenance and daily tasks.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve guest satisfaction and manage controllable costs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and budgeted expenditures.
• Maintain life-safety systems and participate in P&L reviews and capital planning.
• Manage departmental meetings and communicate goals clearly to staff.
• Recruit, hire, and train Repairs & Maintenance personnel; evaluate performance.
