Job summary

Hilton Garden Inn San Jose Airport is seeking a hotel Cook to create memorable dining experiences for guests in our restaurant and room service. You will maintain menu knowledge, be flexible to guest requests, and prepare drinks and food as needed to ensure quality and guest satisfaction.

Applicants should have prior food handling or cook experience, be able to stand for long shifts, lift 25 pounds, and possess a Food Handler’s Permit.

Qualifications

• Previous food handling or prep/line experience is required.
• Some locations may require prior cook experience.
• Must read, write, type and use basic technology.
• Must be able to stand and move around for an entire shift and lift at least 25 pounds.
• Food Handler’s Permit required.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Serve guests in the restaurant and room service attentively and efficiently.
• Maintain complete knowledge of the menu and be flexible and creative to meet guest requests.
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks. Serve wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Serve food prepared in the restaurant as needed.
• Offer both flexibility and creativity to meet guest requests.
• Apply problem solving skills to resolve guest issues to their satisfaction.
• Complete guest orders and accurately collect payments.
• Clean and wash restaurant ware, utensils and restaurant area. Restock and prep bar items as needed.
• Assist with quality, cleanliness and organization of the bar, restaurant and kitchen.
• Assist with inventory, ordering and receiving of all food and beverage items.
• Support the goals of the hotel through teamwork and collaboration with all departments.
