Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts in West Hollywood, CA, seeks a Director of Engineering to lead preventive maintenance and oversee life safety systems across The Sun Rose property. You will manage capital projects, supervise engineering staff, and ensure compliance with brand standards and local codes, while protecting assets and guest safety.

You will coordinate with operations, control budgets, maintain records, and stay current with technology advances to improve energy efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling or certification in building trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry.
• 3+ years hands-on experience at a comparable hotel property.
• Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of life safety systems and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Oversee life safety systems and utilities compliance.
• Manage capital projects and preventive maintenance programs.
• Lead and develop engineering staff; manage budget and inventory.
• Ensure records support RAM budgets and inspections.
