Job summary

Onix Group, owner-operator of Hotel Indigo West Chester, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance department. You will oversee staff, manage projects, and ensure safe, reliable operation of all building systems including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and utilities.

The role requires strong leadership, energy management, and adherence to brand standards. Weekend and holiday availability is expected, with competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; proven hotel maintenance experience; strong leadership and managerial skills.
• Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to push/pull/move objects up to 50 lbs; available for long hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to speak and write English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance staff and operations of the hotel's physical plant and systems.
• Manage projects, schedules, and budget planning for maintenance and remodeling.
• Ensure safety compliance and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with department heads and external contractors; prepare work orders.
• Respond to emergencies and train staff on safety procedures and MOD responsibilities.
• Monitor energy consumption and uphold brand and standards across all areas.
