Job summary

HHM is seeking a Chief Engineer in Renton, WA to lead maintenance, oversee vendor contracts, and manage safety and compliance across the hotel’s systems. The role requires HVAC certification and prior supervisory maintenance experience.

You will supervise a team, coordinate Projects and Preventative Maintenance, and ensure 100% operability of life-safety systems while upholding brand standards and guest satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or trade school coursework preferred.
• Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience required.
• HVAC certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach maintenance staff to meet brand standards and safety policies.
• Oversee budgets, bids, and contracts for third‑party vendors.
• Manage small projects and Property Improvement Plans (PIPs).
• Perform and supervise repairs to building systems, fixtures, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and HVAC/pumps; install and program TVs as needed.
• Maintain PM records and life-safety system testing for 100% operability.
• Ensure service contracts comply with local, state and federal codes.
