Job summary

HHM Hotels seeks a Chief Engineer to lead maintenance operations across the hotel, ensuring guest service standards and sustainability goals are met. You will manage staff, vendor contracts, and safety programs while overseeing small projects and facility improvements.

The role requires HVAC certification and a strong supervisory background, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and ensure 100% compliance with codes and brand standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; related trade schooling optional.
• Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience required.
• HVAC certification required.
• Other local certifications may be required depending on needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead interview, selection, training, scheduling and coaching of maintenance staff to uphold brand standards and HHM values.
• Manage and coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for third-party vendors.
• Oversee small projects or Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) and report progress.
• Perform and oversee repairs including sheetrock, painting, furniture refinishing, and replacement of electrical and plumbing fixtures.
• Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and repair heating/cooling pumps; install and program televisions.
• Maintain PM records for all rooms and equipment; test and maintain life safety systems.
• Coordinate service contracts to ensure compliance with local, state and Federal codes.
• Maintain exterior and curb appeal while following EarthView sustainability guidelines.
• Practice safe work habits per MSDS and OSHA to improve guest satisfaction.
