Job summary

Schahet Hotels is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer at Cantio Hotel in Indiana to lead all aspects of hotel maintenance, safety, and building operations. You will ensure property, equipment, and systems operate efficiently while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of progressive maintenance or engineering experience, supervisory skills, and strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in hotel maintenance or engineering, with supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life-safety systems.
• EPA Refrigerant Certification or CPR/First Aid is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance for guest rooms and public spaces.
• Lead preventive maintenance and capital projects.
• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life-safety systems.
• Ensure OSHA and local safety compliance.
• Manage the maintenance team and budgets.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and guest service issues.
