Job summary

Schahet Hotels in Indianapolis seeks a Chief Engineer to lead preventive and routine maintenance across all hotel facilities, ensuring guest comfort and safe operations. You will organize a well‑kept maintenance shop and protect hotel assets and inventory.

Responsibilities include timely repairs, parts ordering, inventory control, and supporting green initiatives; safety and cost‑effective maintenance are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good working order of all aspects of the hotel facility.
• Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining green initiatives.
• Keep grounds clear of visible trash and clean parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, and entrance thoroughly.
• Report any problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction.
• May be responsible for hotel security to minimize risk of theft, crime and other hazards.
• Report and fix any safety hazards throughout the hotel.
• Carry out preventive maintenance program to ensure the facility is maintained and in service for our guests.
