JOB SUMMARY

The Complimentary Attendant is responsible for providing the highest quality of service possible to guests in an efficient and courteous manner. The Complimentary Attendant will start their day at 6 a.m. and have a varied end time based on the needs of the hotel. Typically, the shift ends around 10:30 a.m. from Monday to Friday and around 11:30 a.m. on weekends. Weekend availability is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly. Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests. Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and perform basic arithmetic functions. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

JOB DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

  1. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  2. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  3. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
  4. Comply at all times with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  5. Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  6. Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.
  7. Prepare buffet station for food setup.
  8. Ensure the buffet is stocked with silverware, plates, and drinkware.
  9. Accommodate any special requests made by a guest or offer appropriate alternatives.
  10. Perform opening and closing procedures, and side work duties according to station rotation assignment.
  11. Ensure that tables and side stands are kept stocked, tidy, and clean.
  12. Always be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
  13. Be familiar with the organization of Marriott International Hotels and the function of each department.
  14. Attend meetings as required by management.
  15. Perform any other duties as requested by management.
