Job summary

Ascent Hospitality Management seeks an Assistant General Manager for Home2 Suites by Hilton Montgomery to lead daily hotel operations and guest experiences. You will work with department heads to uphold brand standards, drive service excellence, and develop a strong team while overseeing scheduling, training, and performance feedback in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hospitality leadership, exceptional communication, and a hands-on approach to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth

Qualifications

• Previous hotel or hospitality experience; supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• A guest-focused approach and commitment to delivering excellent service.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable respectfully.
• Sound judgment for fast-paced environments.
• Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in overseeing the hotel’s daily operations and service delivery.
• Help lead, coach, and support department leaders and team members.
• Promote a positive, respectful, guest-focused team culture.
• Monitor guest feedback and help resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ensure the hotel meets Hilton brand standards, policies, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with departments to maintain clean, safe guest rooms and public spaces.
• Assist with managing labor, expenses, and procurement as needed.
• Contribute to achieving hotel revenue, occupancy, and guest-satisfaction goals.

As Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager in leading the hotel’s daily operations and helping ensure an excellent experience for guests and team members. You’ll work closely with hotel departments to maintain service and brand standards, support financial performance, and help build a positive, effective team.

What You Will Do

• Support the General Manager in overseeing the hotel’s daily operations and service delivery.
• Help lead, coach, and support department leaders and team members.

• Monitor guest feedback and help resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Help ensure the hotel meets Hilton brand standards, company policies, and applicable safety requirements.
• Work with department leaders to maintain clean, safe, comfortable, and well-functioning guest rooms and public spaces.
• Assist with monitoring labor, expenses, supplies, and other operating costs.
• Support the development and achievement of hotel revenue, occupancy, and guest-satisfaction goals.
• Review operational reports and communicate important updates or concerns to the General Manager.
• Help coordinate maintenance, housekeeping, front desk, breakfast, and other hotel operations.
• Support inventory control, purchasing, and vendor coordination as assigned.
• Assist with inspections, audits, emergency procedures, and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Address operational issues and emergencies in a calm, timely, and professional manner.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle guest and team-member matters with discretion.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as needed.
