Job summary

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking a Fire Spark Watch to ensure a safe work environment during and after hot work outages at an active industrial sawmill. You will monitor, inspect, and protect against sparks, heat, and ignition sources while coordinating with welders, supervisors, and crews.

The role requires vigilance, understanding of emergency procedures, and the authority to stop unsafe work, with full PPE and adherence to site safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or mill settings preferred.
• Ability to recognize fire hazards and unsafe conditions and stay alert.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hot work to prevent fire hazards from sparks, slag and heat.
• Inspect areas before, during, and after hot work.
• Maintain communication with welders and supervisors.
• Ensure hot work permits are in place before starting.
• Remain on fire watch for at least 30 minutes after completion.
