Job summary

Zip-O-Laminators is seeking a reliable Fire Watch to support the sawmill addition project. This dual-role covers fire prevention during hot work and general site clean-up to maintain a hazard-free environment.

You will coordinate with Millwrights, Electricians, Welders and other trades to ensure strict safety standards are followed. The role requires adherence to lock-out/tag-out procedures, strong situational awareness, and the ability to work in a noisy, dusty production setting.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of sawmill operations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitors hot work areas for fire hazards and keeps extinguishers ready.
• Performs water-downs in critical zones to prevent ignition.
• Maintains clean and hazard-free work areas throughout shifts.
• Reports safety issues to supervisors promptly.
• Assists in general clean-up and minor maintenance tasks as needed.
