Job summary

American Air Filter International is seeking an experienced Hot Melt Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor pleating and filter assembly equipment to meet product specifications. You will load materials, inspect finished filters, and maintain production records in a safety-conscious environment.

You will work with quality, maintenance, and production teams to meet daily output targets and participate in Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with pleating or automated assembly equipment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and product specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor pleating and/or filter assembly machines.
• Adjust machine parameters (pleat height, spacing, tension, adhesive application, cure times) to meet product specifications.
• Load raw materials including filter media, frames, and adhesives.
• Inspect pleats, bonds, and finished filters for defects, uniformity, and dimensional accuracy.
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials in accordance with quality procedures.
• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical or process issues and elevate as needed.
• Accurately complete production records, work orders, and equipment logs.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste reduction).
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams to meet daily output goals.
