Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow work instructions and product specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor pleating and/or filter assembly machines.
• Adjust machine parameters (pleat height, spacing, tension, adhesive application, cure times).
• Load raw materials including filter media, frames, and adhesives.
• Inspect pleats, bonds, and finished filters for defects and accuracy.
• Identify non-conforming materials and document as per procedures.
• Perform routine equipment checks and cleaning; basic maintenance.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate when needed.
• Complete production records, work orders, and equipment logs.
• Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and work instructions.
• Support Lean, 5S, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams to meet daily output.

Description

The Hot Melt Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring pleating and/or filter assembly equipment used in the production of filtration products. This role ensures products are manufactured to specification while meeting quality standards, safety requirements, and production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor pleating and/or filter assembly machines
• Adjust machine parameters (pleat height, spacing, tension, adhesive application, cure times) to meet product specifications
• Load raw materials including filter media, frames, and adhesives
• Inspect pleats, bonds, and finished filters for defects, uniformity, and dimensional accuracy
• Identify and segregate non-conforming materials in accordance with quality procedures
• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical or process issues and elevate as needed
• Accurately complete production records, work orders, and equipment logs
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and work instructions
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, waste reduction)
• Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and production teams to meet daily output goals

Requirements

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing facility producing filtration products
• Exposure to filter media, adhesives, and production equipment
• Required use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)

Preferred Experience

• Experience operating hot melt or similar pleating/mini-pleat equipment
• Background in air filtration manufacturing
• Familiarity with production tracking systems (ERP)
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
