Job summary

Tech24 in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced Hot & Cold Technician to service and repair commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment. The role emphasizes diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and delivering excellent customer service to minimize downtime.

You will work on hot-side and cold-side systems, communicate clearly with customers, and participate in ongoing training. A valid drivers license is required and EPA Universal certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of commercial foodservice and/or refrigeration repair experience.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters.
• Own industry standard hand tools.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
• EPA Universal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, hot cases, mixers, dishwashers, etc.)
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines, undercounter coolers, etc.)
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations
• Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
• Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers
• Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies
• Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities
