Job summary

Steelbach in Tampa, FL is seeking a Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests, greeting and guiding them to seating while managing wait times and reservations.

You will coordinate seating across dining and bar areas, escort guests to tables, and introduce their server by name to ensure a welcoming dining experience from arrival to departure.

Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required with competitive pay and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as Host/Hostess or Server preferred.
• Ability to greet guests and manage wait times with poise.
• Knowledge of reservations and seating coordination.
• Attention to guest comfort and service etiquette.

• Bid farewell to every departing guest.
• Coordinate with the wait staff on available seating and floor flow in real time.
• Give extra care and attention to guests who may need additional assistance.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and address guest inquiries with professionalism.
• Step in to assist the wait staff as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Host or Hostess to join our team and be the first point of contact for our guests. Host/Hostess responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times, and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.

Must have availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What You'll Bring

• Strong organizational skills - you can manage a full floor without losing your composure
• Solid understanding of restaurant etiquette and guest experience standards
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations
• Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone
• Ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area with a sharp, attentive eye
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Good physical condition to stand and move throughout an entire shift
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience as a Host/Hostess or Server preferred
• Experience managing reservations is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Remain standing for extended periods throughout the shift
• Bending, squatting, and lifting up to 15 lbs. for short distances
• Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment with varying noise levels
