Host Main+Abbey Part Time — Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City

Overview

The Host greets and seats guests for food and beverage service, while maintaining the seating flow and service of the dining room.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests on arrival and regards on departure in a warm and inviting manner
• Maintains full knowledge of restaurant lay-out and seats patrons based on specific layout
• Works with communication devices such as telephones, two-way radios, guest paging system, and both computerized and manual table management systems
• Interacts with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty
• Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the host podium and ensures the dining room floor is presentable at all times
• Communicates to management in a timely fashion any guest compliments or complaints
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills And Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of menu items and service as well as restaurant operations and culinary terminology
• Basic knowledge of dining room standards and procedures

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Customer service or food & beverage experience preferred
• Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable
