Purpose

The Host Family Respite will evaluate and provide training to residents in daily living and social skills in order to assist them in achieving and maintaining their maximum level of functioning with independent community living.

Essential Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
  • Monitor and assist residents with personal grooming and appearance as necessary.
  • Transport and accompany residents to appointments and other services, including day program sites, as needed.
  • Supervise and assist residents in taking their medication in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Assist Caregivers with vacation days, caring for the individual or individuals inside of homes.
  • Assist individuals to and forth social activities, and other meetings and appointments.
  • Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies following appropriate Health and Safety, Aggression Management, First Aid, CPR, and other procedures as necessary.

Plan menus and assist with meal preparation as required.
Monitor and observe residents with special dietary needs.

Work a Flexible Schedule With The Following Availability
Weekdays

Monday‑Friday Morning/afternoon 10am‑2pm

Monday‑Friday Late afternoon/evening 4pm‑9pm

Weekends

Saturday 10am‑8pm

Sunday 10am‑8pm

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma/GED (Proof is required prior to start date). Candidates who attended correspondence school please note that only American School of Correspondence is accepted.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pass a full criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work independently.
