Job summary

The Dinex Group, owner of Daniel, is seeking a Host in New York to warmly greet guests, seat them promptly and help maintain the dining room flow during service.

Responsibilities include taking and confirming reservations by phone, retrieving messages, returning calls, and coordinating with the service team. The candidate reports to the Service Director and General Manager and should have at least 1 year of host experience and knowledge of Resy; weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Host.
• Knowledge of the Resy reservation system.

• Take and confirm reservations by phone; retrieve messages and return calls clearly and concisely.
• Respond to requests in the reservations inbox and coordinate with the service team.
• Assist Management on various projects.

Job description

The Host is the first and last point of contact with the guest and is responsible for greeting, seating and saying goodbye to guests as well as maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service.They will also take and confirm reservations over the phone, retrieve messages and return phone calls in a clear, concise and accurate manner.

The Host will report directly to the Service Director and General Manager. This ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience as a Host and knowledge of Resy.

Essential Duties

• Must have weekend availbility
• Make same day reservations and confirmation calls
• Fulfill VIP request
• Handle email inquiries related to Restaurant DANIEL-- Relais & Chateaux and other sources
• Respond to requests in the reservations inbox
• Proof same day and next day reservations to revise notes, find /solve problems
• Assist Management team with various projects

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
