Job summary

Birdies Icehouse in Houston is seeking a friendly Host to be the first point of contact for guests. You will greet guests, provide accurate wait times, and escort them to dining or bar areas to ensure a smooth arrival.

You will maintain a clean host area, answer questions, manage seating, and assist with takeout orders while upholding health and safety standards. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. TABC and Food Handler certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person).
• Strong organizational skills to monitor seating and dining areas.
• Good physical condition to walk and stand for a full shift.
• Comply with food & beverage regulations: TABC and Food Handler certifications.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the venue.
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
• Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas.
• Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress's name.
• Greet customers upon departure, thanking them for joining us.
• Maintain a clean host reception area.
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly).
• Answer incoming calls and address customers' queries.
• Assist with Takeout Orders.
