Job summary

The Press Club Grill is seeking a friendly host to greet and seat guests, manage seating and answer phones. You will deliver hospitality, assist with reservations, and help guests feel welcome from entry to exit.

Responsibilities include guiding guests to tables, providing menus, describing items on request, and coordinating with service staff to maintain a smooth dining flow. A positive, courteous demeanor is essential for creating a welcoming atmosphere.

• Deliver hospitality to every guest
• Greet guests warmly and courteously
• Open the door for guests entering or exiting
• Promote Call-Ahead/reservation policies
• Make guests comfortable while they wait
• Manage wait list with accurate wait times
• Select appropriate station and table or booth
• Escort guests to their table
• Provide menus to guests
• Describe menu items upon request
• Suggest menu items when appropriate
• Answer phones and follow procedures
• Take to-go orders by phone and deliver to bartender
• Refer allergy questions to the Manager on Duty
• Assist guests seating children or guests with special needs
• Thank departing guests and invite them to return
• Keep entrance area clean and stocked
• Monitor entrance area and pick up trash as needed
• Check restrooms; wipe counters, clean windows, pick up trash
• Provide balloons and kids' menu/crayons
• Assist servers by refilling drinks, clearing plates, maintaining tables
• Wash hands and sanitize after activities
• Notify staff to empty trash after broken glass
• Maintain clean, safe environment; report hazards
• Help celebrate birthday occasions
• Comply with applicable statutes and restaurant policies
• Perform additional duties as requested by management

• Deliver Hospitality to every guest
• Greet guests in warm, friendly and courteous manner
• Open door for guests as they enter and exit the restaurant
• Manage and promote the specific Call-Ahead / reservation policies of the restaurant
• Make guests comfortable while waiting
• Manage wait list quoting accurate wait times
• Select appropriate station and table or booth
• Take guests to selected table/booth
• Provide menu to guests
• Describe menu items if requested by guest
• Suggest menu items if appropriate
• Answer telephones and follow phone procedures
• Take phone To-Go orders and deliver to Bartender
• Defer all guest questions regarding allergies to the Manager on Duty
• Assist guests in seating of small children or special needs guests
• Acknowledge guests who are leaving and invite them to return
• Keep entrance area clean and stocked
• Be observant of landscape and pick up trash as necessary
• Check restrooms periodically; wipe counters, clean windows and pick up trash as necessary
• Provide children with a balloon, children's menu and crayons
• Assist service staff by refilling beverages, clearing plates, and helping to maintain tables and serve guests
• Wash and sanitize hands after removing trash, eating and drinking, using the bathroom, touching own face or hair, or handling food prep
• Alert appropriate personnel to immediately empty trash cans after broken glass has been disposed in them
• Maintain a clean and safe environment reporting any unsafe procedures or conditions to anyone in management
• Participate in executing birthday celebrations
• Comply with all applicable federal, state and local statutes as well as Razzoo’s policies and procedures
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested by a manager at any time

Physical Demands

• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and carry items (ice, plates, trash, etc.) up to 20 lbs.
• Move about the kitchen areas quickly and carefully
• Stand/walk during entire shift
• Ability to hear with accuracy over loud background noise
• 20/20 Near Vision, with correction - the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
• Manual Dexterity - the ability to quickly move hand, hand and arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects
