Job summary

IHOP Oak Ridge is seeking a friendly, energetic Host to join our team at our Oak Ridge location. You will be the first point of contact for guests, greet them warmly, manage seating, hand out menus, and help ensure an exceptional dining experience in a fast-paced setting.

The Weekend Host position offers starting pay of $12 per hour, with benefits including paid vacation, health/dental/vision insurance, flexible schedules, free shift meals, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Accurately manage the seating chart and assign tables to guests based on party size and wait times.
• Provide menus and inform guests about specials or promotions.
• Answer phone calls, complete to-go orders, and assist with inquiries.
• Maintain a clean front-of-house area, including waiting areas and host stand.
• Collaborate with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage guest waitlist efficiently during busy periods.
• Handle guest feedback and concerns professionally.
• Assist with light cleaning and stocking, including resetting tables.

• Assist with light cleaning and stocking as needed, including resetting tables by cleaning chairs, booths, and floors.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HOST

• Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and holidays
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
