Job summary

IHOP Maryville is seeking a friendly and energetic Host to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for guests, greeting them warmly, managing seating, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience in a fast-paced environment. This role offers flexible schedules, opportunities for advancement, and on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and holidays.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Accurately manage the seating chart and assign tables to guests based on party size and wait times.
• Provide menus and inform guests about specials or promotions.
• Answer phone calls, complete to-go orders, and assist with inquiries or requests.
• Maintain a clean front-of-house area, including waiting areas and host stand.
• Collaborate with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Manage guest waitlist efficiently during busy periods, ensuring a positive experience.
• Handle guest feedback and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
• Assist with light cleaning and stocking, including resetting tables by cleaning chairs, booths, and floors.
