Job summary

Rosa Mexicano in New York City seeks a warm, organized Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. You will greet arrivals, manage reservations, escort guests to tables, and help ensure a smooth, positive experience from arrival to departure.

This part-time role requires excellent communication, a professional appearance, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced setting. You will support the team on busy shifts and contribute to a culture of hospitality.

Qualifications

• Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, polished appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they arrive and provide a friendly, welcoming first impression.
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using the reservation system or seating chart.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas.
• Communicate accurately with servers and managers regarding guest needs and table availability.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide restaurant information as needed.
• Assist with special requests such as seating arrangements or guest accommodations.
• Monitor dining room flow and coordinate seating to maximize efficiency.
• Support team members by assisting with service tasks when needed.
