Docks Oyster Bar, part of RBM Restaurants, in Manhattan, is seeking an enthusiastic Host to warmly greet guests, answer phones, and help guests with reservations and seating. The role emphasizes hospitality, attentiveness, and smooth guest flow in a fast-paced New York setting.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of hosting experience in a well-rated restaurant, a genuine, welcoming demeanor, and familiarity with reservation and POS systems.

Responsabilidades

• Greet guests warmly and manage check-in.
• Answer phones, take reservations, and handle guest requests.
• Maintain updated reservation and seating information in the system.
• Relay VIPs, special occasions, and requests to staff and managers.
• Manage restaurant wait list during peak times and set guest expectations.
• Keep the host stand clean and assist guests with coats, bags, and strollers.
• Notify management of guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.

The Opportunity

Hosts are the face of the restaurant. They areresponsible for warm greetings and fond farewells, providing excellent care andservice from the moment a customer walks in, to the moment they walk out.

What You'll Be Doing

• Answering phones in a politeand hospitable manner, taking reservations and guest requests, andanswering guest's questions.
• Handling the reservation systemto make guest's check-in and seating as smooth as possible.
• Maintaining updated tableinformation in the reservation system
• Conveying all appropriate guestinformation to managers, staff and chefs (e.g. VIP's, special occasions,special requests, etc.)
• Managing restaurant wait listduring high volume to accurately set guest expectations.
• Maintaining a clean and orderlyhost stand and entrance area. Cleaning and sanitizing high touch points inthe restaurant.
• Greeting every guest as theyenter the restaurant in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Offering assistance to ourguest's with coats, bags, strollers, etc.
• Accommodating guest requestswhenever possible.
• Offering a warm farewell andthank you to every guest as they leave the restaurant.
• Immediately notifyingmanagement of any guest complaints, including any interactions with aguest that leads the host to believe that the guest is not 100% happy withtheir visit.

Requirements:

• A minimum 1 year of Hostexperience in a well-rated restaurant.
• A true passion for hosting --helping to create an environment where people not only have fun but feelrelaxed, welcome, and connected.
• A genuine nature; able tocomfortably engage in natural dialogue with guests.
• The ability to speak warmly andclearly in person and on the telephone. The inclination to be helpful,provide information and answer questions.
• The ability to multi-task andprioritize while focusing on etiquette and conveying a sense of calm andwelcoming.
• Experience with restaurantreservation systems and point of sale systems.
• Commitment to maintainingavailability that aligns with needs of the business
