IHOP in Rhode Island is seeking a friendly Host to greet guests, seat and escort them to tables, and manage dining room flow with a positive, guest‑centered approach.
Successful hosts are organized, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include handling To-Go orders, answering questions, and supporting kitchen and servers as needed.
Our Hosts are the first impression of the restaurant and play a key role in creating a welcoming, organized, and high-energy guest experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing seating flow, supporting off-premise orders, and helping maintain smooth communication between the dining room and kitchen.
Successful hosts are friendly, organized, adaptable, and able to stay calm during busy periods. In addition to guest seating responsibilities, Hosts are trained to support To-Go operations and may also assist as Expediters during peak business periods to help ensure food accuracy, timing, and overall service flow.
This is an active position that requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25-50 pounds, and frequent movement including reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and continuous use of hands and wrists. Team members may assist with additional restaurant tasks as needed to support daily operations and guest service standards. Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs and team support.
We are a family-operated franchise group that believes great restaurants are built by great teams. We value professionalism, hospitality, communication, reliability, and team members who genuinely enjoy creating positive experiences for guests and coworkers alike.
Since 1958, IHOP® has been the place where people connect over breakfast, enjoy study breaks, grab a bite before or after sporting events, and so much more. And no matter what menu items they order, there’s one ingredient that’s always constant - a smile. We’ve seen millions of smiles over the years in our restaurants, and now shared in photos across our social properties. In fact, smiles are so much a part of our culture that we changed our logo to include one.
This is just one of the many fun and exciting changes you can expect from IHOP®. Because we know the shortest distance between two people is a smile. -
