Job summary

IHOP is seeking a Host to provide a positive first and last impression for guests. The role involves greeting and seating guests, managing seating with Table Manager, handling phone calls, and ensuring clean, welcoming front-of-house areas.

You will support a fast-paced dining environment and uphold safety standards. Primary responsibilities include opening/closing duties, coordinating with management on guest needs, and maintaining restroom checks.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the restaurant's Table Management system.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform station opening/closing duties, including setup/breakdown and maintenance of Hospitality Desk and front entrance area.
• Demonstrate greeting and seating techniques.
• Use Table Manager to maintain accurate seating and dining room quote times.
• Answer phone and take call-in orders.
• Maintain continuous restroom checks.
• Notify the manager of quotes exceeding time, guest needs, or complaints.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Hosts are responsible for providing a first and last impression.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Perform station opening/closing duties on each shift, including set up/break down and continual maintenance of Hospitality Desk and front entrance area.
• Demonstrate appropriate greeting and seating techniques.
• Use appropriate Table Manager techniques to maintain accurate and even seating and dining room quote times.
• Answer phone and take call-in orders
• Maintain continuous restroom checks.
• Notify the manager of any quotes that have exceeded the time quoted, special guest needs or requests, large party execution needs and guest complaints, no matter how small it may seem.
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies and laws, including health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management staff.
