Mambo Seafood is a high-volume, iconic Houston restaurant brand established in 1996, with 12 restaurants in the Greater Houston area, 3 in San Antonio, and one franchised operation in the Rio Grande Valley. The company is poised for rapid growth.

Summary

The Host is responsible for creating a warm and inviting environment for guests. The Host works with service and support staff to ensure a great dining experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and welcoming attitude, practicing company service principles.
• Open the front door and greet guests upon arrival.
• Seat guests and manage seating flow to ensure proper ticket times from the kitchen.
• Seat only complete parties or parties with at least 80% of the total number of guests.
• Use technology to manage wait times and inform guests of table availability.
• Thank guests as they leave.
• Remain at the host station unless performing other duties.
• Keep the host station and entryway clean.
• Serve as the first and last impression of the restaurant.
• Assist with opening and closing duties and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Must have a Food Handler Certificate.
• Team player with customer-service orientation.
• Familiarity with POS systems preferred; basic computer skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk on various surfaces for at least 8 hours.
• Speak and listen continuously for at least 8 hours.
• Perform physical activities like lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, and reaching.

Working Environment

• Moderate noise, fast-paced, high customer traffic, and exposure to cleaning solutions.
