Job summary

Barsella on SMU Blvd in Dallas, TX is seeking a personable host to greet guests, manage the reservation book, seat tables, and guide guests from arrival to departure. You will answer phones, take reservations and to-go orders, and quote honest wait times, helping the front-of-house flow smoothly.

Expected shifts run from 4pm to 9pm and 9pm to 1:30am, with a wage of $15–$18 per hour plus a 3% tip-out of total sales shared with support staff.

Barsella is a new upscale Italian restaurant and cocktail room on SMU Blvd, opening in December.

Projected Start Date: Late November

The host runs the front door. You greet guests as they arrive, manage the reservation book, seat tables, and keep the room flowing evenly across the night. You answer the phone, take reservations and to-go orders, and quote honest wait times. You're the first person a guest meets and the last they pass on the way out.

The room is busy from dinner into late night. You balance walk-ins against the book, pace the seating so no section gets buried, and keep the door moving without rushing anyone. You keep servers and managers in the loop so the floor runs smoothly.

What we look for: organized, confident and calm with a full lobby and a ringing phone.

The facts of the job:

• Wage // 15-18 an hour plus tip-out (3% of total sales split by support staff).


• Schedule // Shifts from 4pm-9pm, shifts from 9pm-1:30am.
