Job summary

Reid's is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests, seat them, and help ensure an exceptional dining experience. You will be the first point of contact, creating a welcoming atmosphere and coordinating with servers and staff to ensure smooth service.

The ideal candidate has weekend availability and a helpful, customer-oriented mindset, with solid communication skills for in-restaurant and telephone interactions.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability is required.
• Experience in hosting or serving in a restaurant is preferred.
• Friendly, customer-focused personality.
• Ability to greet and bid farewell clearly to guests.
• Ability to communicate guests' needs to servers and staff.
• Clear telephone communication with guests.
• Must be able to carry trays or supplies (10–30 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
• Provide guests with menus.
• Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.
• Inform guests of current promotions and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff.
• Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming guests if appropriate.
• Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages.

Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, you rely on your excellent organization and communication skills to bring your best each day for yourself, restaurant staff, and guests.

• Ability to clearly communicate guests’ needs to Servers, Bussers, Managers, etc.
• Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone
• Must be able to carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
