Job summary

Mosquito Joe of Arkansas is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess to greet guests, manage the waitlist, and seat patrons efficiently. You will open doors, provide menus, and relay messages to servers while ensuring a positive first impression.

Day shifts and a flexible schedule are available; no prior restaurant experience is required. You must be able to stand for up to five hours and maintain excellent grooming and clear communication with guests.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly on arrival
• Open front door for guests when possible
• Record guest names and party size during wait

• Provide guests with estimated waiting time

• Bus tables and keep floors clean
• Keep hostess stand and closet tidy
• Clean foyer windows
• Stock bathrooms and perform hourly checks
• Present menus and note servers' names
• Relay messages to servers as needed
• Thank guests and invite return
• Answer the phone with a smile

Summary of Position

Welcome and warmly greet guests on arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
• When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
• When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and the number of people in their party
• Call out name and number of party when tables become available
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
• Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
• Help bus tables and help keep floors clean
• Keep hostess stand and closet clean and stocked
• Clean all windows in the foyer
• Stock bathrooms and make sure they stay clean with hourly bathroom checks
• Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness
• Relay messages to servers as needed
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
• Answer the phone with a smile and the correct greeting
