Job summary

Bigwhiskeys seeks a friendly host/hostess to warmly greet guests on arrival and manage seating. You will open doors, record party sizes, and balance seating to optimize flow across service stations.

Responsibilities include providing menus, sharing server names, inspecting tables, relaying messages, and ensuring guest satisfaction from arrival to departure. Must maintain grooming standards and communicate clearly with guests.

Qualifications

• No restaurant experience required.
• Stand for up to 5 hours.
• Clear and effective communication in the languages of our guests.
• Exceptional grooming habits.

Responsibilities

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival
• Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible
• Record guest names and party size when immediate seating is limited
• Call out name and party number when tables become available
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
• Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
• Help bus tables and assist with floor cleanliness
• Keep hostess stand and closet clean and stocked
• Clean all windows in the foyer
• Stock bathrooms and perform hourly checks to keep them clean
• Upon seating, offer a menu and inform guests of their server’s name; inspect table for presentation
• Relay messages to servers as needed
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
• Answer the phone with a smile and correct greeting

• When possible, open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
• When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and the number of people in their party
• Call out name and number of party when tables become available
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
• Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
• Help bus tables and help keep floors clean
• Keep hostess stand and closet clean and stocked
• Clean all windows in the foyer
• Stock bathrooms and make sure they stay clean with hourly bathroom checks
