Responsibilities

• Greets all guests warmly and escorts them to a table, balancing flow among the server stations.
• Ensures table rotation matches guest preferences and party size.
• Utilizes customer paging system when needed and provides menus to customers.
• Assists with seating requests and answers phones with a courteous greeting.
• Relays guest information to service staff and gathers feedback on the experience.
• Maintains a clean and organized host station and keeps menus, pens, pencils stocked.
• Responds to guest questions about hours, reservations, and directions to the restaurant.
• Provides backup coverage for the host stand when necessary.
• Completes side work before, during, and after shift.
• Checks restrooms for cleanliness and supplies, as needed.
• Keeps the t-shirt cabinet and storage area orderly and organized.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Job description

Greets and welcomes guests upon arrival. Answers telephone takes reservations and managesthe efficient and timely seating of guests to a table providing menu andserver information once seated.Manages special seating requests consistent with table seatingguidelines and table availability.Relays guest seating and information to servers and bus persons. Oversees dining room activity to ensureguest seating efficiency.

Essential Functions andResponsibilities:

Inaccordance with service and cooking procedures:

• Greets all guests warmly and with asmile upon their arrival and escorts them to a table, balancing the flowamong the server stations.
• Ensures table selection correspondswith proper rotation, customer seating preference and size of party.
• Utilizes customer paging system whenbusiness dictates and as applicable.
• Assists with seating requests whennecessary and provides customers with clean menus.
• Relays information to service staff,requests feedback from customers as to their experience and gives afinal salutation upon exit from the restaurant.
• Maintains a clean and organizedstation. Ensures the cleanlinessof menus, and keeps necessary stock of pens, pencils, menus and otherdepartmental supplies.
• Promptly answers the phones withappropriate greeting.
• Responds to guest inquiries relatedto operating hours, reservations, and directions to restaurant or other.
• Ensures backup coverage for hoststand when necessary.
• Completes all side work requirementsprior, during and after shift.
• Periodically checks restrooms forcleanliness and proper stocking of supplies.
• Maintains the cleanliness andorganisation of the t-shirt cabinet and t-shirt storage area.
• Performsother duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Experience and Education:

• Previoushost/hostess experience in restaurant or hospitality required.
• Mustbe eligible to work in the United States.
