Position Summary

The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting customers at the door and setting the tone for a positive dining experience for customers.

Position Duties

• Greets and seats customers
• Presents menus to customers
• Maintains a waiting list and provides customers with approximate wait times
• Runs the floor plan to properly seat customers in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures
• Observes and keeps track of all tables (e.g., clean tables, dirty tables, occupied tables, etc.)
• Cleans, organizes, and stocks menus at host area
• Maintains a clean and organized host area
• Answers phones and questions regarding hours of operation, location, and menu
• Assists customers with placing to-go orders and processes payment for such orders
• Demonstrates a complete knowledge of the restaurant’s food and beverage preparation and ingredients
• Assists to ensure customer satisfaction and positive dining experiences
• Complies with all nutrition, food safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Follows all health and safety rulesPerforms other duties as assigned

Skills and Specifications
